Restaurante del Lago at Vidanta Riviera Maya
About This Spot
Stepping into Restaurante del Lago at Vidanta Riviera Maya is like entering a lively celebration of both nature and Mexican hospitality. Nestled along the vibrant corridor between Cancún and Tulum, the restaurant welcomes you with an open-air design that blurs the line between indoors and out, inviting gentle breezes and the playful presence of local iguanas basking in the sunlight. The pace here is relaxed but spirited, carried by the hum of convivial chatter and the occasional rhythms of live entertainment weaving through the air.
This is not just a place to eat but a space to gather, where the abundant buffet encourages a curious appetite—whether for the morning’s fresh fruits and made-to-order omelettes or the evening’s flavorful Mexican spreads paired with the fizz of sparkling beverages and chilled margaritas. Each visit promises something familiar yet never monotonous, as live performances shift from one cultural melody to another, inviting guests to taste the soul of the region alongside their meal.
The atmosphere is undeniably warm and open, both in its setting and spirit. Guests often find themselves caught between admiring the stunning lakeside views and the vibrant array of food that reflects the diversity of the Riviera Maya. While the tropical climate is palpable, the buzz of the restaurant creates an inviting backdrop where families, friends, and travelers mix effortlessly, enriching each moment with genuine connection.
At Restaurante del Lago, the feeling is less about formality and more about shared enjoyment—the kind that unfolds naturally over a generous breakfast or a festive buffet night. Here, food is a gateway to both place and people, served with attentive care and framed by the unmistakable sense of local life stirring just beyond the tables.

Extensive buffet with lots of fresh and delicious fruits, fish and meats, made to order omelettes and waffles. Staff here was exceptional -- wonderful every time. View is delightful, fun to look for the iguanas sunning in the trees :)

The del Lago is a buffet style restaurant with all you can eat and drink. We went twice and both times there was entertainment on the stage. First night was a Mexican theme and the second was Cuban. I preferred the Mexican food, though the Cuban entertainment was better.

Probably the biggest buffet here in Mayan Palace. It is also the most expensive morning buffet. You will enjoy a wide variety of food for breakfast with Mexican specialities. The best thing about the place is the excellent view you have.

Excellent choice for breakfast, a lot to choose from and so delicious. Absolutely worth it. 100% recommended.

Food choices were fantastic! Service was A+ Fiesta Mexicana dinner show, A+ Atmosphere, since the restaurant is open to the environment, it gets very hot and humid. Restaurant does not have enough fans to circulate the air around so, it your party is not sitting under a fan, you will sweat the entire time you spend there. Please add a few more fans around, thanks

Mexican Fiesta on Tuesday's at Del Lago. Need reservations. Cost between $85-$90 pp all you can eat dinner buffet with a show and games. Drinks included. Choose from tacos, sopes, soup, elotes, quesadilla, ceviches, from enchiladas, rice, beans, etc. Local vendors to buy handcrafted items. Pics taken for a price. If you can take the heat and humidity, good show to see and the food is great. Sorry no pics of food got over excited of the buffet and chowed down.

Awesome spot for the breakfast buffet. Really large selection, from the omelette station to tacos to sushi and other breakfast, brunch, and lunch fares. It's pricey, but if you're hungry and going for a full brunch, it's worth it. I just wouldn't overindulge like this every day. The view is really nice overlooking the lagoon, especially if you sit further out near the open air (there are no windows). Don't be surprised if you show up and there's a line since it gets quite busy. It's also one of the places where the Vida Vacations sales folks take out guests for breakfast before the sales presentation.

Ahh . . Calming tropical breezes. Staff is friendly and happily look to see that you get what you want. Our representative, Victor was attentive to our issues and explained the reality that. Vidanta operates within. Pretty, pretty, pretty, Great winter weather!
